As operators of small, regional, suburban and independently owned spaces the challenge of working out the right scale and operating model for a sustainable, profitable and scalable business can feel like an eternal struggle with a Rubix Cube. More sites? More automation? Less staff? More diversification? Investment?
For our first meet-up for 2024, we will delve deep into the concept of “levelling up” with a group of experienced multi-site, independent operators to address the fundamental question: When is the opportune moment for an indie-operator to go to the next level? And what can that mean? At these typically vulnerable sessions- we will honestly pick apart the intricacies of the growth journey together- including the personal significance of levelling up, the critical indicators prompting strategic moves, and the considerations that guide (or tank) your growth plans.
At this session, three experienced independent operators will share their insights on their market research methodologies, financial feasibility strategies, and the invaluable support networks that contribute to an informed decision. Explore the delicate balance between art and science of levelling-up and gain valuable perspectives on the risks, opportunities, and threats that shape the complex business landscape for the small, regional and independent operator.Together, we’ll have a look into the coworking crystal ball, discussing the broader market trends, the desired scale of your coworking business and help identify potential obstacles hindering your goals. This is a chance to harvest the wisdom of hard-won experience and learn from the journeys of some seasoned operators, discovering the unique selling points that can set your business apart.
Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with industry leaders, gain actionable insights, and empower your coworking venture.

I find meaning in life by bringing people together and making spaces for local community connection and belonging.
The inspiration behind Happy Spaces relates to my passion for creating thriving local communities and offering people wellbeing through their working environment in their local areas. This has extended to a passion for projects that cultivate holistic wellbeing in communities.
In addition to our B-Corp certification, in the last few years, I’ve had the opportunity to learn and experience the values and methodologies of Gross National Happiness, a values system, holistic wellbeing model and measurement system dedicated to achieving happiness in communities. This took me to Bhutan (2017) and the United Kingdom (2018) to become a local ambassador and then globally accredited practitioner at Schumacher College.
I also consult to community, family and SME businesses who want to evolve by discovering their purpose, mission and values and help bridge the gap between corporate and social enterprises.
