Coworking is absolutely exploding! With an estimated 40,000 coworking spaces around the world and more opening every week, it’s tricky to keep up with the industry pace.
But there are a growing number of interesting and informative coworking podcasts designed to help you stay up to date with workspace moves, learn best practices and hear from the industry’s brightest minds and savviest operators.
As we swing into a new year, here are the seven top coworking podcasts for 2023.
1. Coworking Out Loud
Since its launch in 2017, Coworking Out Loud has been about storytelling, real talk and deep connection. And the real talk for this podcast is that I took a “short” break in 2018 and didn’t relaunch Coworking Out Loud until September of this year—a full three years later!
The podcast has taken a few different forms. The relaunched Coworking Out Loud, which now includes video, is an exploration of the deeper side of coworking, content and community—three of my favorite things.
Best thing about this podcast: Creating it! It feels great to be back in front of the podcast mic, talking with guests from inside and outside of coworking, and doing my part to keep the quickly-growing coworking industry human-focused.
2. GCUC Podcast
Hosted by Global Coworking Unconference Community (GCUC) founder Liz Elam, the GCUC Podcast gives listeners an insider view of industry brands and top players as well as a glimpse into the humanness and vision beyond their work.
GCUC is a mainstay and not-to-be-missed in-person experience, and Liz is an industry leader who has a unique and valuable perspective.
Best thing about this podcast: Liz is a futurist who knows just about everyone in coworking so her podcast is friendly, thought-provoking and insightful.
3. Everything Coworking Podcast
A long-running staple of coworking, the Everything Coworking Podcast, hosted by Jamie Russo, dives into coworking ops, management agreements, best practices, pricing, planning and more. Now well over 200 episodes in, this podcast is a must-listen for industry newbies and veterans who want to keep up with the latest best practices.
Best thing about this podcast: Because Everything Coworking has been around for so long, chances are that whatever you’re looking for, Jamie has covered it. Search the archives for episodes on just about anything coworking related.
4. Future of Work Podcast
Created by the Allwork.space team, the Future of Work Podcast has quickly become a go-to for all things work-related. Hear game-changers inside and outside of the workspace industry riff on culture, productivity, leadership, work-life, education, workspace wellness and more.
Best thing about this podcast: Allwork.space has stepped in as a work and workspace way-pointer in recent years and the podcast is a brilliant extension of that. The podcast has consistently great guests and thought-leaders around a variety of topics aligned and intersecting with coworking.
The WorkBold Podcast is the “only podcast in the world dedicated to the future asset class called Space-as-a-Service (SPaaS).” Hosted by Caleb Parker, founder of Bold, this coworking podcast is hyper-focused on the future of commercial real estate and the innovators creating it.
Best thing about this podcast: Downloaded in 50+ countries but based in the CRE hotbed of London, WorkBold challenges workspace industry veterans to think differently about coworking and flex, and bridges the gap between legacy brands and hot-stepping newcomers eager to create the office of the future.
6. Coworking Values Podcast
Produced by the European Coworking Assembly, the Coworking Values Podcast dives into the coworking core values of accessibility, community, openness, collaboration and sustainability. Hosted by Bernie J. Mitchell and Željko (Jack) Crnjaković, this podcast is a reminder of the roots of coworking and the values and traditions that hold it together.
Best thing about this podcast: The Coworking Values Podcast covers a lot of topics, including inclusion, core values, coworking in Ukraine and more. It has a range of guests, from TOG’s Charlie Green to local players to coworking thought-leaders. It also reaches deep into the European coworking scene, which those of us in North America just don’t get enough of.
7. Flex Uncensored
A relative newbie on the coworking podcast scene, Flex Uncensored leans into the commercial real estate aspect of the workspace industry. Hosted by Jamie Russo and Giovanni Palavacini, the format of the show is to “ask industry leaders the questions that are on your mind.”
Best thing about this podcast: Jamie and Giovanni have deep roots in the workspace industry and commercial real estate. Their combined experience and connections make for interesting discussions and smart insights.
